The BIG heart of God

How big is God's heart?
An answer I am seeking to find till the end of time
As I seek this jewel
I keep close to my heart that
God's heart is big enough
To send His only Son to die for me
and for You
His big heart, His big love
Lifts a small me
To be BIG IN HIM

Thank You Jesus.

He is Better Than Life!

Was just listening to this song, one of my favourites. Better than life.. 'better' means more than good. Indeed, there are many things that are good in my life. But Jesus is better than all these. Well, firstly, because He is the One that gives us life itself! So how do I know that Jesus is better than life? Personally, by 2 ways. 1) by faith, 2) by experience. Note why I put faith first. Well, because, somethimes we need faith to enter into that experience of knowing Jesus.
Enjoy this song and may you be drawn into wanting to know Jesus better for He is better than life itself:)

Better Than Life

Better than the riches of this world
Better than the sound of my friends voices
Better than the biggest dreams in my heart
and that's just the start

Better than getting what I say I need
Better than living the life that I want to
Better than the love anyone could give
Your love is

You hold me now in Your arms You never let me go

And You oh Lord made the sunshine
The moonlight and the nightsky
You give me breath and all Your love
I give my heart to You
Because I can't stop falling in love with You
I'll never stop falling in love with You

Quotes from a favourite movie

One of my favourite movies is Forrest Gump. You have to watch this movie yourself to truly appreciate it.

Some facts about this movie (from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forrest_Gump) :

"Forrest Gump is a 1985 novel by Winston Groom, a 1994 film adaptation, and the name of the title character of both. The film was a huge commercial success, earning $677 million worldwide during its theatrical run (the top grossing film in North America released that year... The film garnered a total of 13 Academy Award nominations, of which it won six, including Best Picture, Best Director (Robert Zemeckis), and Best Actor (Tom Hanks).
The film tells the story of a simple man's epic journey through life, meeting historical figures and experiencing first-hand historic events while largely unaware of their significance, due to his low IQ of 75."

I guess I love this movie because it reminds me that even when one may not be smart or great as how the world defines it, he can still succeed. It's what is within a person that inspires.

"But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, that no flesh should glory in His presence."
1 Corinthians 1:27-29

One of the principles that has guided me is: It's not just about what you have or what you can give. It's about how willing you are, to be moulded, to be used by God.

Got some quotes from the movie. Enjoy.

Mrs. Gump (Forrest Gump's mother) (Sally Field): Remember what I told you, Forrest. You're no different than anybody else is. Did you hear what I said, Forrest? You're the same as everybody else. You are no different.
Principal (Sam Anderson): Your boy's... different, Miz Gump. His IQ's 75.
Mrs. Gump: Well, we're all different, Mr. Hancock.

Jenny Curran (Forrest Gump's sweetheart) (Robin Wright): Do you ever dream, Forrest, about who you're gonna be?
Forrest Gump: Who I'm gonna be?
Jenny Curran: Yeah.

Forrest Gump: Aren't, aren't I going to be me?

Forrest Gump: I'm not a smart man, but I know what love is.

Forrest Gump: My mama always said you got to put the past behind you before you can move on.

Forrest Gump: That day, for no particular reason, I decided to go for a little run. So I ran to the end of the road. And when I got there, I thought maybe I'd run to the end of town. And when I got there, I thought maybe I'd just run across Greenbow County. And I figured, since I run this far, maybe I'd just run across the great state of Alabama. And that's what I did. I ran clear across Alabama. For no particular reason I just kept on going. I ran clear to the ocean. And when I got there, I figured, since I'd gone this far, I might as well turn around, just keep on going. When I got to another ocean, I figured, since I'd gone this far, I might as well just turn back, keep right on going. When I got tired, I slept. When I got hungry, I ate. When I had to go... you know... I went.

For those interested in this old movie (12 yrs movie!), below is a link to a good trailer!

Be Wise in What is Good - Care Bears

"... be wise in what is good and simple concerning evil."
Romans 16:19

It started when I showed someone born in 1986 a Care Bears file that i recently bought. I asked him, "Do you know what this is?" A blank look. I was like "WHAT?? You don't know what's Care Bears??" I mean, well, they were phenomenal in the 1980s! Anyway, recently I was at Popular bookshop and saw this Care Bears corner. I was thrilled and went on a mini shopping spree - at that corner.

Care Bears bring a lot of fond childhood memories. They are a bunch of bears that possess special powers unique to each of them. These powers enable them to triumph over evil. I was thinking, as a child watching Care Bears when I was young, I really believed that they could triumph over evil with the special powers they possessed.

Parallel this to our own faith. Do we really have the same child like faith that God's victory in us enables us to triumph over evil? Do we give more credit to the power of God that lies in us rather than the threats that face us? The Bible says "be wise in what is good and simple concerning evil." (Romans 16:19) Lord, help me to be wise in the good.

Will I be found loving Jesus till the end?

"Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved." Matthew 24:12-13

There was something that was preached during yesterday's sermon that struck me and stuck in my heart the whole day and night.

"Will you still love Jesus when the crunch comes?"

I pondered upon this sentence and asked myself that. My desire is "Yes Lord, may I be found loving You till the end." But I can't help asking myself "Will I be found loving Him until the end?"

Like a child trudging towards the father, I went to the Lord last night and conversed with Him about how I felt.

""If anyone worships the beast and his image and receives his mark on the forehead or on the hand, he, too, will drink of the wine of God's fury, which has been poured full strength into the cup of His wrath....There is no rest day or night for those who worship the beast and his image, or for anyone who receives the mark of his name." This calls for patient endurance on the part of the saints who obey God's commandments and remain faithful to Jesus."
Revelations 14: 9-12 (emphasis mine)

God reminded me 2 traits needed: Patient endurance and faithfulness
He further lead me to Hebrews 6:11-12 (emphasis mine)

"We want each of you to show this same diligence to the very end, in order to make your hope sure. We do not want you to be lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised."

3 things that will help us grow in patient endurance and faithfulness:
(a) Diligence
(b) Not being lazy
(c) Imitating the faithful

Wow, considering I am asking God at this season to grant me more diligence, it is sweet to know He knows my needs and speaks.

Lord, keep my eyes fully on You. Not denying what is unpleasant or hurtful, but to bravely acknowledge them before You and allow You to teach me to rise up in faith to fix my eyes firmly on You. Only You.

P.S God answered my prayers by blessing me with a new strumming rhythm! Thank You God:)

Jesus, Beautiful Saviour

BEAUTIFUL SAVIOUR
(Planetshakers)

Jesus
Beautiful Saviour
God of all majesty
Risen King

Lamb of God
Holy and righteous
Blessed Redemeer
Bright morning star

All the heavens shout Your praise
All creation bow to worship You

How wonderful
How beautiful
Name above every name
Exalted high
How wonderful
How beautiful
Jesus Your Name
Name above every name

I will sing forever
Jesus I love You

This is a beautiful song. Simple words, yet containing powerful truths. Recently, this song has been very much in my heart. Being reminded of who Jesus is, His character, His love, His majesty. How wonderful, how beautiful. Many things can be wonderful and beautiful in our lives. May our eyes be opened and spirit man be sensitive to the true wonder and beauty of all - Jesus. Lord, thank You for You in my life.

Where my treasure is, there my heart will be also.

"For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." Matthew 6:21

I was very touched when I heard about a testimony of a Vietnamese Christian girl who can set aside many nights a week, plowing into ministry and the things of God. Not something that I have not heard before, but somehow last night when I heard about the life of this girl, I was particularly touched and impacted. It made me reflect on my life and the attitudes of my heart. Time is something that is precious. And to give much time to something, that something must be a treasure, something I would want to sow into, giving unto it things precious to me. Indeed, I ask that God will constantly consume me with all of Him, so that all of my heart will be unreservedly given unto Him, my treasure.

"Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb is His reward."
Psalm 127:3

It was very refreshing to learn that the "children" mentioned in vs 3 and vs 4 can also refer to spiritual children. I always thought upon it as physical children. It gave me a lot of encouragement hope to know that the Lord desires us to receive spiritual children as a heritage and reward. Lord, i thank You so much for blessing me with spiritual children. It is such a privilege. May You be Lord always of the sacred ministry You have entrusted to me.

My first post :) - 1 Corinthians 15:10

“But by the grace of God, I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain…”
1 Corinthians 15:10

Indeed, it is by the grace of God that I am what I am. Praise be to God that His grace was not in vain. It was never meant to be. God’s grace is not just to be received. It should exert a powerful effect in our lives. To love Him, to serve Him, to make Him Lord of all. Jesus, thank You for Your grace.
